How to feel hot AF in the next 30 days

routine Oct 16, 2026

Thirty days won't rebuild you from scratch, and it doesn't need to. These are the small habits worth considering. Choose the ones that suit your life and let the rest go.

  1. Take a walk after meals

A short walk after eating is one of the simplest ways to keep your energy steady. Walking for as little as two to five minutes after a meal helps, with light walking cutting glucose by around 17% on average compared with sitting. Fewer crashes, less of that sluggish post-lunch feeling.
  2. Pair strength training with Pilates

Two or three sessions a week is plenty. Strength builds muscle and protects your bones, while Pilates brings posture, control and core strength you feel in everyday life.
  3. Lie with your legs up the wall

Ten to fifteen minutes at the end of the day. The evidence is slim, but as a way to slow your breathing and tell your body the day is done, it's hard to beat. It's also free.
  4. Build your plate around whole foods

Vegetables, fruit, wholegrains, beans, lentils, fish, eggs, nuts and seeds. If it looks like it came from somewhere, it belongs on your plate.
  5. Focus on protein and fibre

Aim for around 30g of protein per meal to stay full and support muscle repair. Then make room for fibre: NHS guidance is at least 30g a day, yet the average UK adult manages about 20g. Oats, lentils and the skin left on your potatoes will close most of that gap.
  6. Swap one coffee for green tea

It has less caffeine than coffee and is rich in antioxidant polyphenols, making it a calmer mid-afternoon ritual.
  1. Sip bone broth

Warming, rich in protein and easy between meals. Just know that the idea of collagen going straight to your skin is more marketing than science.
  2. Consider digestive enzymes

Helpful for some after bigger meals or eating out. If bloating is a regular companion, speak to your GP or pharmacist first, and remember that slowing down and chewing properly often does more than you'd expect.
  3. Give alcohol a rest

Even a couple of glasses fragments your sleep, dehydrates you and shows on your skin the next morning. Most women notice the difference within a week. If a full month off feels like too much, keep it to weekends and alternate each drink with water.
  4. Hydrate before caffeine

You've gone all night without fluid. A glass of water before your matcha or coffee supports digestion and softens that wired caffeine feeling.
  5. 2 litres a day

Many women find 2 litres keeps their skin and energy on track. It lines up with official guidance, as the European Food Safety Authority sets an adequate intake of 2 litres of total water a day for women, with food providing around a fifth of that. Spread it across the day rather than drinking it all at once, count your herbal teas, and top up on training days or when it’s warm.
  6. Try dermaplaning

The fastest route to smooth, bright skin and better-sitting makeup. And no, your hair won't grow back thicker, as that idea is a misconception. Use a clean blade, go gently and skip it over active breakouts.
  7. Commit to LED therapy

The evidence is strongest for blemishes, with a 2025 JAMA Dermatology review finding red and blue light safe and effective for mild to moderate acne. For fine lines the picture is more mixed. Use your mask several times a week and give it the full month.
  1. Make time for a castor oil pack

Best enjoyed as a ritual rather than a remedy. A small 2011 study found packs eased constipation symptoms, though bowel frequency didn't change. Half an hour lying down with a hot water bottle is reason enough.
  2. Prioritise sleep

Your body repairs skin and resets your stress response overnight, which is why one bad night shows on your face. Aim for seven to nine hours and protect the hour before bed from your inbox.
  3. Protect your rest

Saying no, stepping back before burnout and protecting your energy are what make everything else sustainable. Softness and strength can sit side by side.

You won't need all sixteen to feel the difference. Choose three or four, practise them most days and let the rest follow. If you'd like the structure to hold it together, our 10-week reset brings mind, body and nutrition into one simple plan, for women who want to feel better, not busier.
